More than two dozen inline pupils skated their hearts out in San Francisco at the Eddy Matzger Access to Speed Workshop in San Francisco, CA, May 18-20, 2001. Skaters passionate about maximizing their rolling pleasure had only to strap on their wheeled conveyances and hang on for a wild weekend ride.

The Claire Matzger Lilienthal Elementary School in San Francisco's Marina district was an appropriate location for absorbing reams of inline information and putting it into practice on the pavement. Claire Matzger Lilienthal was Eddy's grandmother and an ardent educator. She attended the school and was active for many years on the San Francisco Board of Education.

Skaters of all ages (9 to 68) and abilities found common ground on the asphalt playground of the school, and the best part was that the workshop didn't resemble school at all -- it felt like an endless recess!

Everybody achieved honor roll status with A's for effort AND execution. Each skater put himself patiently through the paces before totally winging it in the stage race, which featured some of the most exciting and unexpected action in the history of the workshop.

Extra zing was provided by TWINCAM bearings, Explore wheels, Salomon palm-sliders, Transpack, Wigwam socks, and Raymond Verdaguer
