"I've been engaged in competitive sports for over 40 years," began an emotional speech by a workshop survivor, "and this is the best bunch of athletes I've ever had the pleasure of working with."
Skaters truly are a breed apart. Never a bad egg in the bunch. For one weekend in Ottawa, the heart and soul of the skating movement was on display, and what a stellar example of teamwork and cameraderie it was in Canada's capital city of Ottawa..
"What a motivating force," said another improved inliner. "Even though our bodies are dead tired, our heads are filled with inspiration and everybody's going to lie in bed tonight with this huge buzz!"
"I never knew there was so much to know about skating!" exclaimed a happy student. "Now I have a lifetime of practice in front of me!"
20 skaters from across the spectrum busted some serious moves and acquired new skills in world record time, then put them all to the test in the grand finale stage race. Some might say it was ten times more exciting than a fourth of July fireworks display!
Special thanks to TWINCAM, Wigwam, Transpack, Bobward, Barrie, Freddie and Eddie,Raymond Verdaguer artwork, and the Canadian Immigration and Naturalization Service for admitting this coach into the country.
