An intense and diverse bunch of skaters banded together for three days in the Big Apple for some group therapy on skates. Physically and emotionally, each skater tested their limits and both broke themselves down and built themselves up. The inner peace from finding the path of least resistance on skates caused everybody to keep their heads high knowing they were storing up energy for big things on the horizon. Some skaters just had to throw their hands up and proclaim the glory of the power of the heel carve, for example. The bandshell area was the hot spot for learning on Saturday and Sunday morning for mastering the stunningly powerful business of the fall and the double push. Each afternoon the two dozen participants met at the oval at 84th and the Great Lawn for some major burning while turning.

Carving dominated the drills. Whether embarking on a regular push, the underpush of the crossover, or the underpush for a double push, each exercise required a closing of the skate angle in relation to the direction of travel. That meant focusing every push with the heel.

Magical goodies were provided by Salomon, Transpack, TWINCAM bearings, Explore wheels, Wigwam, and Raymond Verdaguer.
