Not even the Mall of America could fit all the skaters that attended the ILQ-9 Eddy Matzger Workshop, July 10-12, 2003, in Roseville, MN. Forty-one avid inliners packed the John Rose Minnesota Oval to the rafters for a weekend of rolling edification.

With cooperative weather, colorful personalities, and concrete smoother than freshly Zambonied ice, the skating cup ranneth over for everybody. Devoted athletes made the trip from all over the Midwest to attend the most intensive skating seminar they could ever have imagined.

"I should have taken this workshop long ago," said one happy skater. "After just these two days I'm at least a year ahead of where I would have been without it."

"So fun and so painful," was another student's humorous assessment of the weekend.

"I skate mostly by myself and was getting tired of going through my neighborhood and just slaloming through the reflectors. Now I have more than enough things to work on until the next workshop!" said a stoked skater.

With so much heavenly surface to practice on and no need to watch for cracks and debris, lots of time was devoted to teamwork and getting comfortable skating in tight quarters. Groups worked on passing, drafting, pulling and peeling off, and strategizing before actually getting down to real, fun racing.

Special thanks to TWINCAM, Wigwam, Transpack, Bobward, Barrie,Raymond Verdaguer artwork, Noelle, Connie and Julie for making the weekend such a gargantuan success!
