Greensboro, NC, forever put itself on the map as one of the skate meccas of the universe by hosting its second-ever Eddy Matzger Workshop on March 12-14, 2004. Locals and out-of-towners got together like old friends and soon were enjoying the skatey-love of their lives.

If you've ever had any doubt about what the workshop is all about, wonder no more. Amazingly, the curriculum is suited for indoor and outdoor skaters of all ages and abilities, and so packed with action and information that skaters usually return numerous times and still can't get enough.

New to the workshop is a dryland session where workshoppers get a chance to practice all the skating exercises before actually binding wheels to their feet. In this way, everything seems more familiar and less daunting when the skating actually starts.

Skaters were able to work diligently on individual pieces of straightaways, crossovers, and double push. That way things really started clicking when it came time to put it all together. And when assembly began, the epiphanies started occurring with greater frequency than a meteor shower during March madness.

Big kudos go out to Blakey and Craiger, who were instrumental in gracious hosting and putting the workshop on the map for good.

Huge thanks to TWINCAM, Wigwam, Transpack, Bobward, and Barrie for making the workshop better than basketball any day of the week.
