The East Campus Parking deck at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, was the place to be to get worked by the ILQ Eddy Matzger Workshop, February 28 - March 2, 2003. Skaters from Georgia and North Carolina got a head start on mainland skaters while weather permitted by working diligently on classic, crossover, and double push skating.

Skaters got the best of both worlds, indoor and out. On Saturday, with highs hovering at around 42 degrees and smatterings of rain, the workshop moved indoors and kept hustling with classic skating and crossovers.

Sunday was much improved as workshoppers were able to metabolize vitamin D in large quantities as temperatures got up into the mid 60's. Students broke free and busted moves with double push drills and a screaming fast stage race.

Some blood was drawn, some tears were shed, but it was all worth it in the long run because each participant learned how to skate faster with less effort and thus enhance their enjoyment of inline skating.

Ann English was the hostess with the mostess, and the workshop was also graced with the presence of Bobward Flynn, who helped distribute all the free stuff, like ILQ-9 bearings, Wigwam socks, Explore wheels, Transpacks and other goodies.

The real goodies, however were the nuggets of knowledge that skaters took away with them, good for a lifetime of learning and fun.
