You know racing is booming in Korea when Chad Hedrick and Diego Rosero pull up to the line along with 8,000 other inline racers. The two Hyper skaters were so wary of the strength of Korean skaters that they found it necessary to launch early so as not to have to decide the race with a mass sprint.

Hedrick attacked in the first 2 kilometers, and only TWINCAM's Eddy Matzger dared give chase. Eddy was able to keep the gap steady for a while before Hedrick pulled steadily away. At the 8K mark Rosero came charging from behind and passed Eddy like he was standing still.

When Matzger rejoined the pack, an organized chase was out of the question, and a lead group of about 30 watched Hedrick and Rosero skate off onto the horizon. They then engaged in their own game of stop-and-go while jockeying constantly for position.

K2's John Svenson fired the afterburners for a superhuman leadout in the last kilometer.Eddy found himself in the pole position when Svenny peeled off, and as the motorcyle escort pulled over to allow the racers to duke it out, the whole pack followed in error, but Matzger continued his course and coasted in to take the third spot.

5K and half-marathon finishers streamed in by the hundreds in a colorful moving display of incredible athleticism. Eddy was on hand to offer high fives in droves to exultant finishers. Come race in Korea! You'll see that this inline thing is not a fad, it's an animal that's here to stay and multiply!
